It is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Mental health is one of the top risks facing colleges and universities today. College students continue to report poor mental health, with more than one in three students saying they experience moderate anxiety or depression.
As leaders in higher education, we have both the responsibility and the opportunity to help our campus communities address the mental health challenge, whether it be for our students or our employees. Our mission at HigherEdRisk is to curate the best voices in the industry, and we have featured several authors to share their insights on this very important topic.
Thanks to the authors for their valuable contributions to the field of mental health:
Read: Navigating the Risks of College Student Mental Health by Dr. Nance Roy
Read: 3 Steps to Improve Mental Health on Campus by Dr. Donna Volpitta
Read: Breaking the Isolation by Dr. James Geisler

This month, The Jed Foundation is also encouraging students, faculty, and staff to take 10 to 15 minutes to do something that supports their well-being, because small, consistent actions help foster a culture that takes mental health seriously.
When institutions lead with care, communities follow.
