Biography
Dr. Norean R. Sharpe served as Dean and Joseph and Maria Schwartz Distinguished Chair evolved, the scope of our discussion has naturally expanded to include emerging risks, such as at St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of political activism, athletic funding, public confidence, and generative artificial intelligence (AI). Business from 2016-2023. She currently directs the M.S. in Business Analytics Program and serves as professor. Previously, she was Senior Associate Dean at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and Professor of Statistics at Babson College. Dr. Sharpe is co-author (w/ P. Walker and N. Hubbard) of the chapter on “Enterprise Risk Management in Business Education” in the recent book The Future of Business Schools, Edward Elgar Publishing, 2022. She is also co-author of the textbook Business Statistics (w/ R. De Veaux and P. Velleman), Pearson Education. Dr. Sharpe served as an honorary committee member of the American Women for International Understanding (AWIU) and, in 2017, was elected as a member of the Women’s Forum of New York. She holds degrees from Mount Holyoke College, University of North Carolina, and University of Virginia.
